Curtis Jones sends ‘tough’ message to Liverpool fans after explosive clash
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones took to social media to send a message to the fans after their 2-2 Premier League draw with Aston Villa on Wednesday (February 19).
The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Liverpool dropped two valuable points in the race for the Premier League title at Villa Park.
The match was an end-to-end thriller and, for the second consecutive midweek for the visitors, was not without a significant dose of controversy.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes Axel Disasi was lucky not to see red after appearing to lash out at Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister wasn’t without blame, however, committing a “clear holding offence” for which Hackett slammed referee Craig Pawson.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Youri Tielemans bagged the equaliser in the 38th with a fine volley after some pinball in the Liverpool box.
Ollie Watkins gave the home side the lead just before the break but Trent Alexander-Arnold had other ideas, restoring parity and ending the game 2-2.

Jones is also in the form of his life under Arne Slot, starting 19 of his 31 games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing six assists in his 1684 minutes on the field.
Jones took to Instagram after the 2-2 Premier League draw with Aston Villa to send a message to the fans, saying: “Tough battle last night, we keep going! Thank you for the support Reds.”
Arne Slot’s side will take on current champions Man City on Sunday (February 23) in what is likely to be a crucial game for both clubs.
Liverpool will then face Champions League hopefuls Newcastle in what should be another tricky fixture for the Merseyside club.
