Daichi Kamada sends encouraging Crystal Palace update as contract decision looms
Daichi Kamada has told Crystal Palace fans to remain calm as he will aim to recover from his latest injury setback without any delays.
Kamada has been key to Palace’s success over the last 12 months under Oliver Glasner, who he previously worked with at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Japan international featured 43 times in all competitions last season, registering two goals and three assists as the Eagles came 12th and won the FA Cup.
He has been a regular starter once again in 2025-26, with 13 in the Premier League up to now, and Palace want to hand Kamada a new contract as his current deal is set to expire next summer.
Nothing has been agreed as yet, with his future remaining uncertain ahead of January, but an imminent exit has been ruled out after a new update on an injury he has suffered.

Kamada urges Palace fans not to worry as he faces two months on the sidelines
Ahead of Palace’s Conference League clash against KuPS on Thursday, Glasner confirmed that Kamada has picked up a serious hamstring injury and will be out for the next eight to 10 weeks.
He had limped off midway through the second half in their last game against Manchester City, and will now be out of action until the middle of February.
Kamada took to Instagram on Thursday to provide an update on his fitness with a message that read: “Don’t worry. I will come back as quick as possible.“
His post was reacted to by Leeds and Japan star Ao Tanaka, who replied with numerous fire emojis, while Celtic midfielder and fellow international teammate Daizen Maeda left three heart emojis in support.
Kamada could leave Palace next summer with Glasner set to depart
Recent reports have stated that Kamada is waiting to see if Glasner signs a new contract at Selhurst Park before he commits his own future to the club.
Glasner heavily criticised the Crystal Palace board after their recent defeat to Manchester United, and sources have told Football Insider that several clubs are keeping close tabs on his situation as a result.

Glasner is reportedly set to leave Palace at the end of his contract next summer, meaning it seems very likely that Kamada follows him out of the door.
The 29-year-old’s absence over the next two months will serve as a blow to the Eagles’ hopes of success on all fronts, but their bigger concern will be losing him for nothing next summer alongside their boss.
