Daizen Maeda reacts after Adam Idah sends message to Celtic fans

Celtic ace Daizen Maeda replied to his teammate Adam Idah’s message on social media after the pair scored against Motherwell.

Idah has stepped up for the Hoops in recent weeks, following the departure of teammate, Kyogo Furuhashi, to Rennes.

Maeda opened the scoring in the first minute of the match, connecting with a cross from right-back, Anthony Ralston.

Motherwell then pegged the Hoops back in the 23rd minute thanks to Luke Armstrong, but Celtic would regain their lead only seven minutes later thanks to a neat finish from Idah.

The Bhoys would have to wait until the 94th minute to tie up the game, as Maeda set-up returning hero, Jota, who scored on his second debut for Celtic.

Celtic star Adam Idah sends message to fans after important victory

The Hoops maintained their 10 point lead over Old Firm rivals, Rangers, after their victory over Motherwell.

Celtic are looking to make it four Scottish Premiership titles in-a-row, and going into the Championship group, they will want as large a lead as possible.

There were concerns over Furuhashi’s departure at such a crucial stage in the season, but Idah has stepped up, scoring twice against Aston Villa in the Champions League, and now netting in the match against Motherwell.

Following the victory, Idah posted on his Instagram, saying: “Another top W! Thank you to everyone for the support!” to which Maeda, who assisted the Irishman’s goal, responded with a simple love heart emoji.

The Hoops have a short turnaround this week, as they are set to face Dundee FC on Wednesday night (5 February).

In other news, the Hoops have set their sights on a £10million windfall according to Keith Wyness.
