Daizen Maeda sends ‘amazing’ message to Celtic fans after heartbreak

Celtic forward Daizen Maeda took to social media to send a message to the fans after their heartbreaking aggregate Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday (February 18).

The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League thanks to an added-time goal from Alphonso Davies.

Brendan Rodger’s side lost the first leg 2-1 after Nicolas Kuhn saw his goal inside 26 seconds ruled out before goals from former Premier League stars Michael Olise and Harry Kane.

Maeda pulled one back in the 79th minute at Celtic Park giving the German side a massive advantage going into the game at the Allianz Arena.

Kuhn scored the opening goal for Celtic against Bayern before Davies snatched away Celtic’s chance to take them to extra time with an added time equaliser, sending Vincent Kompany’s side through to the last 16.
