Dan Friedkin hatches plan to keep Calvert-Lewin at Everton – sources
Everton will do “everything they can” to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the club under the new ownership, sources have told Football Insider.
Incoming owners The Friedkin Group will sit down with the striker for crunch talks in an attempt to persuade him to extend his stay at Goodison Park.
As things stand, it is believed Calvert-Lewin is planning to run down his contract at the club – which expires at the end of this season.
AC Milan are interested in a move for the 27-year-old, who can discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January.
It’s understood Calvert-Lewin will listen to any proposals from overseas clubs – but will not make a final decision in the new year.
The forward is currently keen to explore the market as a free agent at the end of the season – when English clubs will also be able to approach him.
Friedkin set for Calvert-Lewin talks after Everton takeover
Newcastle and West Ham have previously held an interest in the England international, who last represented his country at the European Championships in 2021.
Calvert-Lewin has hit two goals and notched one assist in 13 Premier League games this term.
He is still a key man for Sean Dyche’s side even as his contract with the Toffees comes to an end.

The striker has hit 70 goals and notched 19 assists in 260 games across all competitions for the Merseysiders.
Everton sit 15th in the table after 13 games and are just two points above the Premier League drop zone.
