Dan James surely finished at Leeds United as new injury blow revealed
Dan James may have played his final game for Leeds United after missing the FA Cup quarter-final win over West Ham.
The 28-year-old played both of Wales’ games during the international break, even bagging an incredible goal against Bosnia & Herzegovina, but ultimately, felt World Cup heartbreak.
His last two campaigns at Elland Road have been incredible, notching 25 goals and 17 assists in 83 games, but the Welshman’s 2025-26 campaign has been plagued by various injuries.
Daniel Farke may already be planning for Leeds’ summer transfers, and James could be on the list of potential outgoings after sustaining yet another setback for the Whites.

VISIT THE LEEDS TRANSFER HUBDan James could be sidelined for a ‘few weeks’
After supporters spotted that he was missing from the matchday squad to face West Ham on Sunday, 5 April, Leeds journalist Beren Cross revealed the reason for his absence.
It is understood that the winger has picked up an adductor strain and will be missing for a “few weeks,” with Gabriel Gudmundsson also returning from international duty with a new problem.
Football Insider revealed last month that Leeds have no plans to offload James ahead of the summer transfer window, but the hierarchy are bound to reconsider that view in the final few weeks of the season.
| Dan James’ Leeds injuries | Seasons | Games missed |
| Hamstring, ankle, muscle | 2025-26 | 15 |
| Hamstring | 2024-25 | 10 |
| Hamstring | 2022-23 | 0 |
James appears to have been sidelined for more games than he’s actually played this season, which has been a major blow, especially as Leeds battle against Premier League relegation.
Leeds United fans furious with new injury update
It is safe to say that Leeds fans are far from pleased, especially given James’ number of minutes during the international break, despite struggling to feature back at Elland Road.
One supporter has even assumed that Farke will be “furious,” and the manager must also deal with new injury blows after clashing with the Hammers at the London Stadium.
Joe Rodon and Anton Stach were both forced off via their respective injuries, with the latter appearing the more serious after posting an image of his swollen ankle on social media.
Losing Rodon would be a much bigger blow, however, given his importance to the backline.
