Daniel Farke gambling with relegation as Leeds ready to accept offer for big name
Leeds United could depart with Wilfried Gnonto in the January transfer window, with Fiorentina interested.
The winger has struggled for game time this season and missed a big portion of the campaign through injury.
As a result, it has been suggested that Leeds will allow Gnonto to leave in January, with the winger out of favour at Elland Road.
Potential suitors have since arrived, with Fiorentina now eyeing the Peacocks star.
Fiorentina eye loan deal for Wilfried Gnonto
According to FiorentinaUno.com on 26 December, the Serie A outfit are considering a loan move for Gnonto ahead of the January transfer window.
Fiorentina need reinforcements to help with their push for survival after they picked up their first league win of the season last weekend.
Therefore, a loan with a conditional obligation to buy for Gnonto is a new idea at Fiorentina in the coming weeks.
- Gnonto joined Brentford in 2022
- Last season, he was crucial to their promotion season
- However, Gnonto has been injured for most of this season
However, it would be a massive mistake if Daniel Farke allows this to happen.
While Gnonto has struggled for game time this season, now that he has returned from injury, he has shown quality.
The winger picked up an assist against Brentford, with the 22-year-old proving to be an excellent impact player from the bench.

Therefore, with a long way still to go in the season, Farke would be gambling with Leeds’ survival if he were to permit Gnonto’s departure, as the attacker can clearly still make a positive impact.
Brentford performance proves that Gnonto can still have impact at Leeds
Gnonto’s best performance this season easily came against Brentford.
The winger put in a wonderful cross for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to head home the equaliser in what could be a valuable point.
According to Fotmob on 27 December, despite the attacker only being on the pitch for 17 minutes he was fantastic.
On top of his assist, he also created two chances and completed 100 per cent of his crosses.

Therefore, it is evident that the Italian international still has a part to play at Elland Road if he is given minutes on the pitch.
