Daniel Farke has serious Brenden Aaronson issue after Leeds draw vs Brentford

Brenden Aaronson was once again poor for Leeds United in their 0-0 draw against Brentford on Saturday.

For many, the match was a must-win, with the Peacocks unable to drag themselves away from the relegation zone.

One of the biggest issues from the game was the lack of chances created from open ball, with Leeds once again struggling to break down the opposition.

Aaronson was meant to be key to providing a threat up top. Yet, this never came about, and the attacking midfielder was eventually dragged off midway through the half.

Below, Football Insider has examined the overarching problem Daniel Farke is now facing after another dull Leeds performance.

Brenden Aaronson becoming a serious issue for Leeds United

Against Brentford, Leeds were blunt, something that has become a common theme in recent weeks.

In their last six Premier League matches, they have found the net just once from open play, with the goals starting to dry up.

Leeds were the better team against Brentford

The match against the Bees was a real chance to prove any doubters wrong, with the visitors slumming to a 2-2 draw against Wolves on Monday.

However, Leeds did not lay a glove on them, and Aaronson was key to this issue.

Throughout his time on the pitch, he only completed seven passes, created just one chance, and failed to have a shot on target.

This lack of threat has been a constant theme for months, with the 25-year-old last pitching up a goal contribution against Newcastle on 7 January.

For Farke, this is a serious issue, with the manager seemingly keeping trust in the attacking midfielder despite his obvious lack of threat.

If things do not change, this could easily result in Leeds’ relegation, as a strong defence alone is not enough to keep you up.

It remains to be seen if Farke will continue to stick by Aaronson or if changes will be made for the West Ham match.

How will the lack of goal shape Leeds’ summer transfer window?

Football Insider recently revealed that Leeds will target a new striker in the summer transfer window if they stay in the Premier League.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s recent lack of scoring form has also emerged as a big issue despite his recent call-up to the England National team squad.

Joel Piroe’s future also seems uncertain if they do stay up, with game time becoming a big issue.

However, it remains to be seen if the Peacocks are able to attract a top striker, and if this alone will end their terrible record up top.
