Daniel Farke sack latest: Leeds ‘are in trouble’ as fans turn on manager

Daniel Farke is “definitely” facing sack pressure at Leeds United after what has been a dismal start to the Premier League season at Elland Road.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that some of the Leeds hierarchy are not convinced Farke is the right man for the job.

This comes after Leeds considered sacking Farke following their promotion from the Championship amid doubts about his ability to manage a team in the top flight.

Leeds lost 2-1 to Aston Villa last time out, despite having led 1-0 at half-time, and have now dropped into the relegation zone after losing five of their last six games.

As a result, major questions are being asked of the manager again, and large sections of the Elland Road crowd have begun calling for his head.

Daniel Farke ‘definitely’ facing sack pressure after Aston Villa loss

Brown told Football Insider on 10 November that Farke could soon be sacked by Leeds, with fans calling for his head after a string of disappointing displays.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely alongside elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United, insisted that Farke is now facing a tough battle to persuade the board he is the man.

There is definitely some thought being put towards the manager’s future,” he told Football Insider.

“They even considered getting rid of him before a ball was kicked this season, so it’s clear that there is the opinion behind the scenes that he might not be the man for the job.

“It would take something outstanding from him in this position to change their minds on that.

“If they keep losing games while the teams around them are picking up points, then before they know it they’re going to be in serious trouble.

“Fulham and Nottingham Forest both won at the weekend and West Ham picked up a point as well.

“So the pressure is on Leeds, they have to start getting results, and if they’re not doing that then the finger will be pointed at the manager.”

When Farke could be sacked by Leeds United

Football Insider revealed on 16 November that Farke is fighting for his job at Leeds, but he could be sacked before Christmas if their downturn in form continues.

Upcoming fixtures against Man CityChelsea and Liverpool before the end of December have created a worrying situation at Elland Road regarding the boss’ future.

With a tough run of fixtures coming up, there are concerns that they could soon fall into the drop zone, piling further pressure on the manager’s position.

Brown told Football Insider on 12 November that Leeds will sack Farke if they become stranded in the relegation zone in the coming weeks.

Given their tricky fixture list, while teams around them continue to pick up points, there is a growing feeling that the boss does not have long left in his role.
