Daniel Farke set to admit defeat with Leeds summer signing as talks get underway
Sebastiaan Bornauw could now leave Leeds United just months after moving to the club.
The defender has not adapted to life in England as quickly as many of the Peacocks’ other signings.
As a result, appearances have been restricted for Bornauw, featuring just twice in the Premier League.
Many of Leeds’ signings in the summer have been hit and miss under Daniel Farke. However, it now appears he could discard Bornauw for the remainder of the campaign, with Koln interested in a loan.
Koln eye loan move for Sebastiaan Bornauw
While much of Bornauw’s problems at Leeds this season have been due to injuries, even when he has returned from the sidelines, minutes have been limited.
The centre-back did feature against Chelsea and Liverpool earlier this month, but this was from the bench and in the dying minutes of the games.
- Bornauw joined Leeds in the summer from Wolfsburg
- However, injuries disrupted the first half of his campaign
- Now, Koln are linked with a move for the defender
Now, according to Bild on 21 December, Koln are eyeing a move for the Leeds defender.
The German side are internally discussing a return for their former star. However, a loan deal is seen as a more feasible option than a permanent one.
Now, Farke needs to admit defeat. It is clear that the transfer has not worked out, and the manager is not able to get the best out of him at present.

Therefore, a loan move back to his former club could be the best for all parties and could help increase his price for a potential future sale.
What are Leeds’ plan in January?
For Leeds, they will be aiming to keep many of their star players in January, while also improving their squad.
Jayden Bogle has recently been linked to Everton, a departure Farke cannot allow if he wants to keep the West Yorkshire club above the drop zone.
On top of this, Leeds are reportedly still chasing a striker, despite the recent form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, it remains to be seen what Leeds will do over the coming months as they look to stay up and consolidate their position as a Premier League club.
