‘Daniel Farke to axe Brenden Aaronson for Willy Gnonto’: Fans rage after QPR draw
Leeds United fans have have had enough of Brenden Aaronson and made their feelings clear on Wilfried Gnonto following their draw with QPR in the Championship.
Daniel Farke’s side missed the chance to go five points clear at the top of the second-tier in the race for promotion to the Premier League after playing out a 2-2 draw at Loftus Road on Saturday (15 March).
Things could have been even worse for them in that match, with QPR having raced into a 2-0 lead before Leeds produced a comeback.
However, that match does at least seem to have made one thing clear to fans about one particular selection call Farke has to make between now and the end of the season.

Brenden Aaronson flops before Willy Gnonto shines
Brenden Aaronson has already come under fire from Leeds fans this season in the wake of some below-par performances despite his side’s lead at the top of the table.
The American international did not do himself any favours here either, gifting possession to Koiki Saito inside his own area to allow the QPR attacker to open the scoring.
Aaronson was also unable to make any impression as his side looked to get back into the game, before being replaced by Gnonto at half time.

A lack of starts for the Italy international has led to some suggestions that Gnonto could leave Leeds in the summer transfer window.
Even so, the 21-year-old would still make a significant impact here, looking a much more considerable threat than Aaronson after his introduction into the game.
That included an excellent revere pass in the build-up to Jayden Bogle netting the all-important equaliser for Leeds to secure them a point.
That has at least ensured that Farke‘s side moved three points clear of second-placed Sheffield United before they play the Steel City Derby against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday (16 March).

Leeds United fans want starting lineup change after QPR fightback
Taking to X to reflect on that draw and the performances of both Aaronson and Gnonto, many were keen to see the latter take over in the number 10 role in the starting lineup going forward.
Indeed, many felt that the Italian had been able to more in that one outing than Aaronson has been able to do in his last several weeks in the first XI.
Leeds will next be in action when they host Swansea City at Elland Road after the March international break.
