‘Daniel Farke to blame Manor Solomon for Leeds United sack after Luton blow’
Leeds United supporters are quickly running out of belief that Daniel Farke can deliver Premier League football to Elland Road this season.
The Whites slipped to third in the Championship table, with just six matches of the campaign remaining, and Farke is under immense pressure to get Leeds out of the division at the second time of asking.
Burnley, however, now lead the race for the league title, with Sheffield United following closely behind, and the West Yorkshire side are looking likely to bottle their chances for a second season running.
Isaiah Jones opened the scoring for Luton Town on Saturday, 5 April, with defending that sent the Leeds manager berserk, but hope was restored just 13 minutes later when Dan James netted the equaliser.
Many of the travelling fans at Kenilworth Road expected all three points against one of the teams fighting to stay out of the relegation zone, but it turned out to be their third consecutive draw.
Leeds United at risk of losing out on promotion to the Premier League again
The Whites missed out on promotion so cruelly last season, reaching the Championship play-off final before losing to Southampton at Wembley Stadium after having surged into the automatic promotion places only weeks previously, but inexperience was to blame for many supporters.
This time around, fans are ready to put errors to names, with Illan Meslier already being dropped from the Leeds lineup after far too many howlers in between the sticks.
Championship standings | Points |
1. Burnley | 84 |
2. Sheffield United | 83 |
3. Leeds United | 82 |
This has come to be expected of the Frenchman for many, though, so it is never a surprise when he throws away three points for his own team, but the same cannot be said for Manor Solomon.
Solomon was absolutely loved by the Leeds faithful at the start of the season when he arrived with a big reputation on loan from Tottenham, having notched seven goals and seven assists, but the Israel international is now without a contribution in eight league matches.
His nosedive in form has come at just the wrong time for Farke, and he was the last person that should have been on the end of James’ 82nd-minute cross that could have sealed all three points at Kenilworth Road.
The winger sent his effort high and wide, rather than anywhere near Thomas Kaminski’s net, causing a lot of moans and groans from the away end.

49ers Enterprises ready to pull the rug from underneath Daniel Farke
49ers Enterprises will be under pressure to replace Farke if current trends continue, even if only a handful of matches remain before fans understand which teams are heading into the play-offs.
Missing out on automatic promotion last season meant losing Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville in the same summer transfer window, and the same situation would occur this time.
If that were to happen, there is no way Farke would be trusted with a third season at Elland Road, not just because of his spiralling record in the division, but because of the fan fury following a devastating collapse.

If that comes to pass Solomon will have contributed to his manager’s demise with his untimely miss on Saturday afternoon in what feels like a potential sliding-doors moment.
He may not be too bothered once he returns to Tottenham this summer, although Farke would certainly want to point the finger at him once the hammer comes down.
Patrick Bamford, Brenden Aaronson and Joel Piroe will all likely be blamed to some degree, but after such a significant moment in the end-of-season run-in, it will be difficult to forget the Spurs loanee’s major miss.
