Daniel Farke to ‘start Max Wober from now on’: Leeds United fans ‘forgive’ spat

Max Wober has been hailed by Leeds United supporters after scoring his first goal for the club against Derby County.

The centre-back did not endear himself to the Elland Road fanbase last season, when he departed on loan following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League.

He is though, back playing in the Championship for Daniel Farke’s side during the current campaign, as they again chase promotion back to the top-flight.

Wober then reached a new milestone in his Leeds career against Derby, with a moment that certainly went down well with the club’s fanbase who were delighted that he’d started to repay them for the previous issues.

Max Wober leaves Leeds fans raving with performance vs Derby

With the Whites looking to bounce back from the disappointment of defeat to Blackburn last weekend, Wober initially started this clash with the Rams at Elland Road on the bench.

However, the centre-back was introduced early on, stepping in for the injured Junior Firpo at left-back after just 21 minutes.

The hosts then went in front moments later as Joe Rodon headed in from a corner, before Wober got on the scoresheet himself at the stroke of half-time.

As well as doing his job defensively, the Austrian also made an impact in attack, making an excellent run to meet a Brenden Aaronson cross at the back post and tap in to make it 2-0 to Leeds.

Despite the frustrations of the season before, plenty of the club’s supporters were still keen to pay tribute to Wober as they took to social media to react to his performance, calling for him to start from now on under Farke.

In other news, Leeds have been told to sign a Brentford player in the January transfer window.
