Daniel Farke will be at Leeds United ‘for a long time’ after source’s ‘huge’ reveal – pundit
Daniel Farke could be Leeds United manager for a “long time” but one “big question mark” remains.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Rangers defender Alan Hutton feared that Farke’s ability to keep the Whites in the Premier League could pose an issue.
The German has excelled at Elland Road since joining in the summer and has the club well-placed for an immediate return to the top flight.
Leeds are expected to reward his success, with Football Insider revealing (4 March) that the club will make it a priority to secure him a bumper new contract if they get promoted.
Daniel Farke has been ‘amazing’ at Leeds United
While his record at earning promotions is impressive, he twice failed to mount successful Premier League campaigns with Norwich City after being relegated in 2019-20 and getting sacked during the 2021-22 season.
Hutton claimed that Farke deserves a new deal, but warned fans about about his substandard Premier League record.
“I can see him being there for a long time,” he told Football Insider.
“As long as results keep coming, he’ll stay.
“But we’re not daft, we know how football works.
“If the results start to go bad and they drop off or don’t make the playoffs, it might be a different discussion.
“But I don’t see that happening with the form that they’re in.
“The squad they have and the way they’re playing at this moment in time – the confidence and momentum are there.
“Farke has done an amazing job and if he gets them promoted in first, second or through the playoffs, he deserves what is coming his way.

“The big question mark would be what he can do moving forward if they are in the Premier League – his record there is not great.
“But it’s a huge job and one that he’s obviously enjoyed.”
