Daniel Levy could now oversee Tottenham takeover – Keith Wyness

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness believes that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could end up creating a multi-club network himself.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – thinks that this is one of the last areas Levy could push to build more value in his club.

Levy could see a minority stake in the football club for an estimated fee of £750million, which could be used to launch a multi-club network.

These are becoming increasingly more common in football, with Man City showcasing the potential benefits it can bring.

Being able to loan out players to provide game time, earning more profit, and nurturing coaches in the same philosophy are just some of the benefits available which Spurs could tap into.

Tottenham could sell stakes to launch a multi-club model

The money that Tottenham could make from selling a minority stake in the club would be hugely beneficial in the long term, but Wyness isn’t sure Levy would use it to launch a multi-club network.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I don’t think that’s where the money would go initially.

“They may use part of that to pay down some of the debt still on the stadium, they’d like to try and do that still and reduce the interest payments if they can.

“Spurs would be very easy to become a halo club for a multi-club organisation.

“They’ve got great networks throughout the world in terms of the sporting side, and they’re very well thought of, it wouldn’t be hard for them to do that.

“I know that they would build one that would make sense rather than having the clashes that some of the multi -club owners do.

“I don’t know if they want to do it informally or formally, it’s something I’m sure they’ll look at.

“It’s probably one of the last areas that Daniel can actually build greater value with Spurs.”
