Daniel Levy to complete Tottenham sale? Finance expert drops ‘£3bn’ reveal
Tottenham are “stuck” with Daniel Levy and their current ownership group due to the high valuation that has been placed on the club.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider it’s going to be hard to find a buyer willing to pay their asking price.
It has been widely reported this year Levy has been in talks to sell a minority stake that could value Tottenham at up to £3.75billion.
The 62-year-old has held his role as chairman since 2001 and his family are 29.88 per cent investors in Spurs’ majority shareholder ENIC, which owns 86.58 per cent of the club.
Tottenham’s board came under fire recently when star defender Cristian Romero criticised the club’s lack of spending, while a group of fans also held protests against Levy and the ownership group following their poor run of form.
Spurs’ revenue rose to a club record £549.6million in their latest accounts for 2022-23 after their commercial revenue increased to £227.7million across the same period.
Tottenham chiefs face difficulties finding new investment
Borson admitted Tottenham chiefs will find it difficult to source new investment as they currently sit 11th in the Premier League table.
He told Football Insider: “They are in a very good position financially because they have got a very big stadium and are a central London club.
“However, sat in mid-table in the Premier League is not going to entice interest in the football club.
“They have got to balance that.
“It’s very unlikely that protests are going to remove Daniel Levy or the ownership of the club.
“They have got very high aspirations for the value of Tottenham and I think it’s going to be very difficult to find a buyer at that kind of level.

“They have talked about more than £3billion.
“It’s just going to be very hard to find somebody to take that on, so I think they are stuck with Levy, who indirectly owns 25 per cent, and the rest of the group that own the rest.”
