Daniel Levy Tottenham exit latest: ‘They’ve got to get him out’
Tottenham have to get owner Daniel Levy out of the club if they are to have any chance of success on the pitch, Ian Wright has claimed.
It has been a dismal season so far for Spurs, who currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, and have taken just one point from their last seven league games.
That has already led to plenty questioning how long manager Ange Postecoglou might have before he is sacked by the club.
Wright though, feels it is Levy who Tottenham must move on, given the lack of success they have enjoyed on the pitch during his ownership, despite the emergence of the likes of Harry Kane in that period.
Speaking about the situation at Spurs on the Overlap, the legendary Arsenal striker said: “You look at Levy. When you look at Tottenham as a business, unbelievable, unbelievably run and that’s what he does.
“If he had the same energy trying to win something for Tottenham, they’d be winning something. Remember they’ve had arguably one of the greatest goalscorers in English history, that’s come through their academy.
“He didn’t build anything around that. He was scoring, how many golden boots did Harry get in the end, three or four, right.
“You’ve got somebody who’s capable of doing that, you didn’t build a team around him they should’ve been winning things.
“Because the owner, they haven’t won anything with him have they, with Levy at the helm. Tottenham used to win trophies they used to win FA Cups and they used to win stuff. It’s him, he’s the one they’ve got to get him out and get an owner in who wants to win something.”
After Roy Keane then noted that is not how the club is run, Wright added: “That’s why they need to change that because the only thing that’s missing from that place is trophies.”

Football Insider Verdict
There can be no denying that many of Spurs’ recent results mean there has to be pressure on Postecoglou at the club.
However, it is also impossible to escape the fact that the Tottenham manager has not been helped by a huge raft of injuries his side have had to deal with this season.
With young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky the only signing the club have brought in during the January transfer window, Levy hasn’t exactly acted to help rectify the situation.
As Wright points out this is not the first time this has happened under his ownership with various manager in charge, at times costing Spurs the chance of success.

The fact it is not just under Postecoglou this has been the case indicates that changing manager, again, will not be enough to solve the problems at Tottenham.
Indeed, for all the talks about the manager, many of the club’s supporters also appear far from happy with Levy, and so will likely find themselves echoing the sentiments of Wright over his comments here.
