Daniel Munoz reacts to Crystal Palace message to Mateta after Liverpool decision
Daniel Munoz reacted to a message from Crystal Palace to Jean-Phillipe Mateta after Liverpool made a decision on signing the striker.
The French striker enjoyed another excellent season in the Premier League last term, scoring 14 times in 37 appearances.
However, there will be a sense of what could have been for the former Mainz striker, as Mateta’s form dipped after suffering a horrific head injury in an FA Cup meeting with Millwall.
After scoring 43 goals in 136 appearances for the Eagles, the 28-year-old has become a man in-demand this summer.
There are so few options at striker in the transfer market currently, driving up interest in players like Mateta, who are proven finishers.
Plenty of Premier League clubs are in the market for a new forward, and the Frenchman continues to crop up as one to watch for a summer switch.

Crystal Palace share training ground update
Amidst uncertainty surrounding his future at the club, Palace shared four images of their star striker on Instagram, captioned: “We all love a happy Jean-Philippe Mateta”.
The post was liked by teammate Munoz, showing support for the French striker.
Crystal Palace receive Mateta boost after Liverpool interest
Football Insider Verdict
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider exclusively that Liverpool will not pursue a move for Mateta this summer.
This decision comes after the Premier League champions agreed a deal to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Not only is Mateta a reliable source of goals and a major factor in the Eagles’ build-up play, he is also loved by the supporters.
The news will be a major boost to Oliver Glasner and the Eagles’ fanbase, who have endured a miserable summer so far.
Palace have been relegated to the Conference League, despite their FA Cup victory qualifying for the Europa League, thanks to John Textor’s majority shareholding of both the Premier League outfit and French side Lyon.
But with their fan-favourite looking more likely than ever to remain at Selhurst Park for next season and with a journey into Europe on the cards, even if it isn’t the competition they want to be in, the Eagles need their star man more than ever before.
