Danny Mills has claimed “fabulous” Declan Rice would be the “perfect signing” for Arsenal this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England international revealed he is a massive admirer of Rice following his outstanding campaign for club and country.
The 20-year-old was part of the England side that lost their Uefa Nations League semi-final to Holland on Thursday night but Mills has been blown away by his development over the last months.
“He is a fabulous talent with a massive future ahead of him,” Mills told Football Insider. “He is young and still has a lot to learn, as he’s not played Champions League football or much international football.
“He has to go through that learning process, but I’ve no doubt about him in the slightest. He’d be the perfect signing for so many clubs looking at a getting a midfielder this summer.
“You could see him playing alongside N’Golo Kante in the Chelsea midfield. Could he improve Arsenal? Yes. He’d walk into the Arsenal team. Could he replace Fernandinho at Manchester City in the future. Without a shadow of a doubt.”
Rice established himself as a centre-back at West Ham in the final months of the 2017-18 campaign.
He was then transformed into a midfield anchorman by Manuel Pellegrini in the recently-completed season, starting 34 Premier League matches among his 38 appearances in all competitions.
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that Crystal Palace will make a massive bid for Hammers player if 26-year-old leaves Selhurst Park this summer.
