Danny Murphy believes that Tottenham are still a couple of players short in their attempt to win the Premier League title and has highlighted the club’s attacking area as weak.
Spurs have emerged as the main contenders for current leaders Chelsea in the race for the league crown.
The north London club are seven points adrift in second, but have won their last six consecutive games across all competitions.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side managed to score three late goals on Wednesday night as they edged past Swansea 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
Ex-Spurs player Murphy feels that his former side are still short of attacking options and that will halt their title bid.
“Tottenham are still a couple short of winning the title,” Murphy told talkSPORT. “Even though they came back to win late on against Swansea, they still looked a bit toothless upfront without Harry Kane, although Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have stepped up to the plate and have put in a good shift in.”
Spurs have been without their talisman Kane in the last four games and have managed to stretch their winning run to six games across all competitions.
The England international has score 24 goals in 29 matches and has been in sensational form in front of goal.
Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son have managed to fill the Kane void and have been in great form in front of goal.
The trio were on the scoresheet against Swansea, but Murphy feels they are still lacking in that area.
