Danny Murphy makes bold Florian Wirtz to Liverpool claim: ‘It’s done’
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has made a big claim regarding the rumours that Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is set to move to Anfield.
The Reds lifted the Premier League trophy after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, finishing the season ten points clear of second-place Arsenal.
In Arne Slot’s first campaign in charge, the Merseyside club clinched the title with four games still remaining.
However, Liverpool are not sitting back after their triumph, and have already begun making moves in the transfer market to improve their squad.

Wirtz set to join
In recent days, rumours have been circulating that Wirtz to Liverpool is basically a done deal, with negotiations in an advanced stage.
The Leverkusen midfielder scored 10 goals and picked up 14 assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances this season, drawing in a lot of interest from the big clubs around Europe.

It had looked as if Wirtz was heading to Manchester City, but it seems like Pep Guardiola’s side have missed out on bringing the 22-year-old to the Etihad.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (26 May), former Liverpool midfielder Murphy revealed he believes that next year’s Premier League title could already be wrapped up, saying: “If Liverpool sign Wirtz, it’s done. I mean have you seen him?
“He’s got lovely feet where he can dribble past people, but his passing is superb. Normally you’re a bit more one or the other, but he’s got both.”
Liverpool look to retain title
Football Insider Verdict
With Wirtz set to join Liverpool, you could be forgiven for thinking that the majority of the Reds’ business for the summer is over, but that isn’t the case.
Arne Slot is clearly eager to ensure that his side don’t rest on their laurels, and that the squad is injected with some new talent ahead of next season.
Football Insider exclusively revealed (16 May) that Wirtz’s Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong is also expected to move to Liverpool.
The right-back would be replacing the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is moving to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
There are more potential deals on the way as well, with Milos Kerkez rumoured to be making the switch to Anfield after a superb season for Bournemouth.
If all three moves go through, then it will be hard to bet against the Reds retaining their Premier League title next year.
