Danny Rohl must make vital Rangers tactical change vs Rangers, stats explain why
Rangers are set to take on Celtic on Saturday, and Danny Rohl’s lineup could easily end up determining the result.
The Gers have lost both of their Old Firm derbies this season, with the latest being a 3-1 defeat in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals.
However, in recent weeks, Celtic have been woeful, losing five of their past seven matches in all competitions, including a 2-0 defeat to Motherwell on Tuesday.
As a result, Rangers could leapfrog the Hoops with a win, and Rohl has to play Bojan Miovski to secure this.
Bojan Miovski has scored in three of his past six meetings against Celtic
While Miovski has not been great for Rangers since he signed for the Glaswegians in the summer, Rohl is not blessed with great attacking options.
The North Macedonia striker looked to have finally found form in early December with three goals in two matches. However, he has not found the net since.
While Youssef Chermiti has been decent in recent weeks, Rohl must look to find a way to get Miovski back into the starting XI, after he confirmed that he was back in contention.

This is because the striker is prone to scoring against the Hoops, netting in three of his past six meetings against Celtic.
Therefore, with the Old Firm side low on confidence and form, there is every chance he can continue this streak on Saturday.
On top of this, the tactical change could be vital in returning the striker back to form, which could be a key difference-maker in the race for the title.
What has Danny Rohl said ahead of the Old Firm derby?
The importance of the upcoming derby cannot be understated.
While any Old Firm clash is crucial for both sides in any season, three points for either side on Saturday could prove to be a turning point in what has been a dire campaign.
Speaking ahead of the game, Rohl told the Daily Record on 2 January that he believes Celtic are nervous as he discusses the emotional side of the Old Firm derby.

He said: “Yeah, I think they’re nervous, from what you hear so far. But I think it’s about us and how we start such a game.
“I totally believe that if we are right there, on the front foot and winning balls – we can hurt them. Then they will be even more nervous. But if they create good moments at the beginning, the crowd will be straight behind them. So it’s not just tactics, it’s the emotional and psychological things. That’s what we have to understand.
“I could say this game is just three points. But this game is never just about three points. There’s an emotional side. But it will be a big booster for us (if we win) and where we are at the moment.
“If we can’t win it? The season is still on. We’ve shown after losing to Hearts we can come back with results. But we need a long turn this season. If we do that, I see a big belief that there’s something for us.”
