Danny Rohl must stick by Bojan Miovski for Rangers vs Motherwell as eye-catching stat emerges
Rangers are set to take on Motherwell on Saturday, with Danny Rohl’s side looking to bounce back from their recent defeat.
The Gers’ Scottish Premiership title ambitions suffered a massive blow on the weekend as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Hearts.
Rohl’s side are now 11 points behind the Jam Tarts, although they do have a game in hand.
However, for the time being, catching Celtic will be the priority, with potential Champions League qualification on the line.
Therefore, Rohl simply has to stick with Bojan Miovski up top, who has a fantastic record against Motherwell.

Bojan Miovski a regular scorer vs Motherwell
Miovski’s move to Rangers has not been fruitful to date.
The former Aberdeen striker has struggled for goals, only netting three times in the Scottish Premiership since his summer move.
Miovski looked to have turned a corner this month when he scored a brace in the 3-0 win over Kilmarnock.
- Miovski was brought into Rangers in the summer
- There was a hope that the striker would quickly adapt back to the Scottish Premiership
- However, to date, it has been a painful process for both parties
However, upon returning to the lineup on the weekend, Miovski was awful against Hearts, and ghosted throughout most of the game.
Given that Youssef Chermiti came off the bench to score, Rohl may be tempted to bring the striker in up top for the North Macedonian international. However, this would be a mistake.
Miovski has an excellent record against Motherwell from his time at Aberdeen.
| Bojan Miovski’s record vs Motherwell | |
| Games | 7 |
| Wins | 5 |
| Goals | 4 |
| Assists | 0 |
To date, he has netted four times in seven matches against Saturday’s opponents and has only ever lost once.
Therefore, Rohl simply has to keep him in the starting XI if he wants to return to winning ways on the weekend.
Rangers’ record vs Motherwell explained
In recent times, Rangers have had an awful record against Motherwell compared to other Scottish sides.
The Gers have not beaten them in three matches, with their last win coming in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals in November 2024.
In fact, in the last six meetings, Motherwell have beaten Rangers as many times as the Gers have seen victory – both at two wins.
Therefore, Rohl will be aiming to achieve something Russell Martin could not on Saturday by beating Motherwell.
