Darren Anderton: This is what current players think of Tottenham's home stadium

By Amir Mir

Darren Anderton believes current players think Tottenham’s home stadium is “the best one to play in”.

Spurs are set to bid farewell to White Hart Lane this Sunday when they play their final match at their old home against Manchester United.

Supporters will be hoping their team can pick up a win in their final game at the Lane, with a number of ex-players invited as guests to the match.

Club legends such as Ledley King, Ricky Villa and Anderton himself have all been invited for the Premier League encounter against United.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, which aired on Wednesday afternoon, Anderton spoke highly about one of England’s most iconic stadiums.

“If you ask players now, they still talk about this being the best ones to play in,” Anderton told Sky Sports.

“It has got something very special about it coming from the atmosphere, it feels like an old school, proper football stadium.”

By the time, Spurs play United, they still could be in with a chance of catching leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race.

Their London rivals need to beat West Brom at the Hawthorns on Friday evening if they want to be crowned English champions.

Nonetheless, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in north London after some highly impressive performances this term.

Two of the club’s standout performances arguably came against Manchester City and Chelsea when Spurs won both fixtures by the same scoreline, 2-0.

During their last home match, they beat their bitter rivals Arsenal to ensure that they will finish above them this season for the first time in 22 years.
