Darwin Nunez reacts to transfer news as Liverpool exit is confirmed
Darwin Nunez has reacted to a confirmed Liverpool exit amid the increasing speculation regarding his future at Anfield.
The Uruguay international fell out of favour under Arne Slot last term, making just eight Premier League starts.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal want to sign Nunez, but there is uncertainty over whether the striker would prefer to move to the Middle East or remain in Europe.
Meanwhile, The Athletic reported on Tuesday, 24 June, that Serie A champions Napoli are expected to make an offer for the 26-year-old in due course.

Nunez reacts as Nat Phillips leaves Liverpool to join West Brom
Slot has already been busy in the transfer market this summer, acquiring both Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
But as the Dutchman looks to add yet more quality to his star-studded squad, he will have to sell some of his current talent.
Meanwhile, on Monday, 23 June, Liverpool sold Nat Phillips to West Brom, bringing an end to the defender’s seven-year stint as a senior player at Anfield, albeit he has endured several loan spells.
Taking to Instagram [24 June], Phillips wrote: “Absolutely delighted to join WBA and I can’t wait to spend the next three years here.
“Looking forward to seeing you all at The Hawthorns.”
The 28-year-old’s message attracted a like from Nunez.
Nunez to Napoli move hinges on Victor Osimhen exit
Football Insider verdict
After winning the Serie A title last season, Antonio Conte’s men find themselves in a similar position to Liverpool, as they look to enjoy a strong summer transfer window that could help them retain their top-flight crown.

Following their second Serie A triumph in three seasons, Napoli have already signed Kevin De Bruyne, who will look to effectively link up with Scott McTominay.
But Conte is now set to turn his attention towards reshaping his forward line, after Victor Osimhen scored an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances on loan with Turkish giants Galatasaray last season.
Thanks to his clinical performances in Istanbul, Osimhen has been linked with Manchester United, while the Red Devils desperately need to strengthen after finishing just 15th in the Premier League last campaign.
Even though Romelu Lukaku would likely remain as Conte’s first-choice striker, Osimhen’s departure could pave the way for Nunez’s arrival.
Amid the news that Nunez will leave Merseyside this summer, Kostas Tsimikas has also been tipped for an Anfield exit in a Liverpool News 247 exclusive.
