Darwin Nunez problem may have been exposed as controversial Liverpool footage emerges – pundit
Darwin Nunez cannot let opposition players “get in his head” when he returns from his suspension for Liverpool, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker claimed there will be a “long line of defenders” who will now try and test Nunez.
The 23-year-old was shown a red card in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night (15 August).
He will now miss their next three games – a trip to Man United on Monday (22 August) as well as home games with Bournemouth (27 August) and Newcastle United (31 August).
Asked whether Nunez’s temper could become an issue for the Reds, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “I hope it’s not.
“I think he’s going to be a real plot point in the Premier Legaue. I like him as a player, I think he’s a really good player but this is the Premier League and having a defender like Andersen, it’s a battle.
“Defenders will use anything they can to see if they can test you. They don’t know him so they are going to have to use everything.
“There was a time before where he put his head against him and that’s why I think Andersen pushed him and then he butted him.
“There’s going to be a long line of defenders who are going to try and get in his head.
“I think there’s enough experience, enough quality in that Liverpool dressing room to just say to him ‘That’s one thing you cannot do, you’re going to have to bite your tongue at times’.
“Liverpool were losing at the time and probably frustrated but you have to keep your head elsewhere he’s no good to them.

“Really, if they had 11 players they would have felt they could have won the game but they got away with a draw in the end after Zaha missed that late chance.
“I hope it’s not a sign of things to come with Nunez. He’s got to really keep his head.”
In other news, Liverpool have been backed to complete a “statement” midfield signing after a deal is agreed.
