Darwin Nunez reacts to Erling Haaland’s new message after Man City masterclass

Erling Haaland was in a positive mood on social media following Man City’s latest win at the Club World Cup.

Pep Guardiola’s side maintained their perfect record in the competition after cruising to a dominant 5-2 victory over Juventus.

Jeremy Doku opened the scoring inside the first few minutes, finishing off a clever move created by new signing Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the pair already building a promising partnership on the left flank.

Haaland delivered another impressive display for Man City, dropping deep to link play and adding his name to the scoresheet after coming on in the second half.

Savinho and Phil Foden were also among the goals, while Juventus managed to respond through Teun Koopmeiners and Dusan Vlahovic, but it wasn’t enough to trouble City’s momentum.

After the full-time whistle, Haaland shared a message with supporters following another convincing performance from the European champions.

Erling Haaland hits 300 career goals milestone

The Norwegian striker posted on Instagram after City’s latest victory, keeping his message short and simple with the caption: “3/3”, a nod to their perfect record so far in the Club World Cup.

Plenty of his teammates were quick to respond, with Rayan Cherki leaving fire emojis under the post, while Foden, Omar Mamoush and Ruben Dias all liked the message.

Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez also showed his appreciation, with the Reds striker liking the post.

Guardiola’s side have enjoyed a flawless group stage campaign so far. Man City eased past Al-Ain with a 6-0 win and comfortably beat Wydad AC, even with controversy surrounding Rico Lewis’ red card during the latter fixture.

For Haaland, the night carried extra significance as his goal marked his 300th career goal in just 371 professional appearances – a staggering achievement for the 24-year-old.

Despite City enduring a frustrating domestic season as they finished third and failed to lift silverware for the first time in eight years, Haaland’s individual form remained consistent, scoring 22 Premier League goals. He has carried that form into the Club World Cup as City look to end their season on a high.

Darwin Nunez edging closer to Liverpool exit

While Nunez was active on social media showing support for Haaland, his own future at Liverpool continues to dominate headlines.

Football Insider revealed Nunez is edging closer to leaving Anfield this summer, with Al-Hilal, Atletico Madrid and Napoli all showing strong interest in securing his signature.

The Uruguayan forward was blocked from leaving during the January window, despite struggling to nail down a regular starting role under Arne Slot last season.

However, with Liverpool being busy this summer, an exit appears increasingly likely. Should Nunez depart, the Reds are expected to prioritise signing a new striker to fill the void.
