Exclusive: Stockport in advanced talks over deal to sign Stoke City striker
Stockport County are in advanced talks to sign Nathan Lowe in a loan deal from Stoke City, sources have told Football Insider.
League One rivals Huddersfield Town have also been interested in the highly rated striker, who notched 18 goals and seven assists on loan with League Two Walsall last season.
The 19-year-old was recalled by Stoke last January and went on to score one goal in 10 Championship appearances last term.
Lowe could now be set to test his skills in League One after excelling in League Two, but struggling for game time in the second tier.

Stockport in advanced Lowe talks amid promotion aspirations
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Stockport are interested in Manchester United’s Ethan Williams, demonstrating the ambition of the Edgeley Park side.
Dave Challinor’s men finished third in League One last season, and are vying to enjoy yet another promotion push next term.
The Greater Manchester side have signed the likes of former Peterborough United defender Tayo Edun this summer, while Lowe’s signature would mark another notable arrival.

Football Insider verdict
Lowe proved himself as one of the best strikers in League Two last season by scoring 15 goals and producing five assists in 22 fourth-tier appearances.

The teenager’s exploits in Walsall colours suggest that he is capable of excelling in League One for Stockport, should they land his services on loan from Stoke.
Stockport’s promotion challenge last term was largely down to the fact that Louie Barry notched 15 goals in 23 league appearances before being recalled by parent club Aston Villa in January, and subsequently joining Hull City on loan for the remainder of last season.
Lowe can have a similar impact to Barry at Edgeley Park next campaign, and ensure that Challinor’s side land at least another playoff finish.
Meanwhile, the fact that Huddersfield have also been interested in the Stoke man is a strong endorsement of his quality, as the West Yorkshire side have signed former Birmingham City hotshot Alfie May.
