David Bates reveals what disappointed him on Rangers debut in Twitter message to fans
By Harvey Byrne
Young star David Bates has revealed he was disappointed he didn’t end his Rangers debut with a win on Wednesday evening.
The 20-year-old centre-back started the match in the back four for Pedro Caixinha’s team, but while he helped his side keep a clean sheet the forwards were misfiring in the 0-0 draw against Kilmarnock.
The result was a tough one to take for those associated with Rangers as the Ibrox giants are currently sat 12 points behind Aberdeen in second place.
However, Bates did also share on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that he was delighted with his debut before hailing the club’s fans.

Bates has previously played for Raith Rovers, East Stirlingshire and Brechin City before joining the Glasgow giants in a development loan move in the summer.

He clearly impressed the club’s coaches and at the end of the temporary deal in January Rangers agreed to sign him on a permanent deal.
The young centre-back is still contracted to the Gers until the summer of 2018 and supporters will be keen to see more from Bates with hopes that the club have unearthed another gem.
In other Rangers news, Bates has also told how this summer flop is helping him off the field.
