David Beckham backed for Man United takeover after source’s £8bn reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has insisted David Beckham would be the perfect person to take over Man United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker cited Beckham’s success at Inter Miami as evidence in favour of the former United man.
The Glazer family released a statement last week searching for new investment for the Manchester club in the form of a share of the club or to buy it outright.

On 23 November, sources told this site that the Red Devils are lining up a world-record price for a sports franchise that could cost potential buyers up to £8billion.
Speaking on his FIVE podcast (27 November), Rio Ferdinand confirmed Beckham, who is already part-owner of American club Inter Miami, could be making a move to purchase the Premier League giants, alongside a consortium.
When asked if an ex-footballer could be the perfect owner for United, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I think Beckham has got a love of the game.
“He has got the best interest at heart. I think he loves football. He will have a consortium with people who have very deep pockets.
“I think it would be a catch for him to go back to Man United because he loves the club and he would have the best interests of the club at heart.

“All he would want to do is make sure the manager has got what he needs on the pitch. He would let the other businessmen look after the club and they would let David have everything to do with the football side of it.
“I think that is why it is working at Inter Miami. Whether David has got enough money to buy Man United, I do not think so. We are talking about billions, at least five or six for Man United. They are the biggest retail club in the world.“
In other news, according to sources, Man United are ‘confident’ of signing Cody Gakpo in January.
