David De Gea ‘waiting’ for Marcus Rashford amid Man United transfer talk
David De Gea has issued a call to Marcus Rashford amid the uncertainty aroung the Man United attacker’s future.
The England international spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he impressed prior to seeing his campaign prematurely ended by injury.
His exit had come after Rashford had fallen out with Man United manager Ruben Amorim, and it is hard to see a way back for him at Old Trafford even now his loan spell with Unai Emery’s side is over.
Barcelona have now been tipped to make a loan move for Rashford, who is apparently keen to join the Spanish giants.
Before that though, it appears De Gea is keen for a link up of his own with the out of favour Man United man.

David De Gea demands Marcus Rashford meet-up
Many players at the top level are currently on a summer break ahead of their return to action in pre-season in the coming weeks.
Even so, Rashford has still been training hard to get fit after of his injury, as he looks to potentially catch the eye of possible suitors with the transfer window open.
De Gea now seems keen to take advantage of that with his former Man United teammate, following his latest social media post.
Taking to his Instagram story, the Spaniard posted a picture of himself on a court with a padel racket, along with the caption: “Waiting for you”.
The goalkeeper then tagged Rashford to direct that message in his direction, along with emojis that suggested a friendly challenge to his old teammate after his own recent posts playing the sport.

Man United exit remains neccessary
Football Insider Verdict
De Gea is of course now playing in Italy with Fiorentina, having initially spent a period out of the game following his departure from Man United.
Given the wages he is on and his apparent desire for a move to Barcelona, it is hard to see Rashford reuniting with the Spaniard for much more than a game of padel.
Even so, it is important for Man United that they do move the attacker on this summer, not least because of the split that has developed between him and Amorim.
Beyond that, there is also the need for the Red Devils to raise funds for new signings to improve the squad after such a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Even if a move to Barcelona does not happen, Aston Villa could look to re-sign Rashford this summer, so an exit from Old Trafford in the next few weeks would surely be no surprise.
