David Gold: Bilic would be prepared to do this at West Ham
By Derek Smithson
David Gold believes that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic would not be afraid to chuck a youngster into his starting line-up.
The Hammers have quite an experienced squad at their disposal, but the club have been renowned for producing some very talented youngsters over the years.
They will be hoping to bring through some young talents next season and also improve on their 11th-placed finish in the Premier League.
Gold was told on social media by a fan that West Ham should be selecting players regardless of their age, something that the chairman believes Bilic does do already.
He gave a thinly-veined dig at first teamers Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku by stating Bilic would use a better player if he was available.

“I am confident that had Slaven have had a better teenage left-back than either Cresswell or Masuaku he would play him, etc.” Gold wrote on his personaL Twitter account.
Our main objective should be picking the best players for our match day squad, wether they are 17 or 37, if the talent is there, use it.

Ashley Fletcher was the standout youngster to make a strong impression in the first team last season.
The 21-year-old made 20 senior appearances across all competitions and was a frequent substitute under Bilic.
Academy prospects Declan Rice and Domingos Quina are two players who are being tipped for good things at the London Stadium and will hope for first team opportunities next year.
In other West Ham news, the club’s midfielder has delivered an update on his recovery from injury.
