David Moller Wolfe could be the answer to Wolves’ prayers, his stats speak volumes

Vitor Pereira’s Wolves job is hanging by a thread after another defeat coming against Chelsea in the EFL Cup.

Wolves fielded six defenders in a 4-3 loss to Chelsea as the Portuguese couldn’t turn around his side’s woeful form.

Pressure is ever-mounting at the club with sources telling Football Insider that Pereira could be sacked soon if the points gap for Premier League safety continues to widen.

With Brendan Rodgers in the mix to replace Pereira at Wolves, the under-fire boss needs to make drastic changes to try and improve their poor run of form in the English top-flight.

David Moller Wolfe’s display vs Chelsea offers Pereira a potential solution to season’s troubles

In the 4-3 defeat in the EFL Cup on 29 October, the Wanderers put in a relentless performance to try and comeback against the Blues.

In the first 45 minutes, it is safe to say the Old Gold were outclassed by Enzo Maresca‘s side as they trailed 3-0 at the interval.

Yet, an inspired showing from summer signing David Moller Wolfe at left-back aimed to change the grim mood at Molineux.

The Norwegian international netted twice in the match, converting both of his goalscoring opportunities in an efficient manner.

Moreover, the ex-AZ Alkmaar man delivered one key pass and created one big chance as he looked to carry Wolves to get something out of the fourth round tie.

Ultimately, his brace was not enough to change the tide as Chelsea edged a narrow victory.

However, the performance highlighted a potential route for Pereira to get some joy out of his side in the attacking third moving forward.

Wolves can capitalise on Fulham’s Premier League inconsistency with Moller Wolfe

The Wanderers head to west London on 1 November to face an inconsistent Fulham outfit in a bid to secure their first win of the league campaign.

The Cottagers have lost their last four Premier League games on the bounce, conceding nine goals across those matches.

Their questionable form can see Wolves take advantage of their defensive frailties and deploying the Norway international to attack Kenny Tete at right-back could be fruitful.

Compatriot Jorgen Strand Larsen is in desperate need of service and the number six’s lung-busting runs down the left could help to create space in the middle for the striker.

With just two points and no wins, Pereira has to do change something to change his side’s fortunes as the axe edges ever closer.
