David Moyes ‘frustrated’ with Said Benrahma after what pundit spotted at West Ham

West Ham manager David Moyes “expects more” from Said Benrahma and is “frustrated” with his defensive output.

That is the view of ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 26-year-old’s form at the London Stadium.

Benrahma scored in a 3-1 loss to Spurs on Sunday but caused his manager David Moyes to collapse to his knees when caught in possession on the edge of his own box.

As quoted by Football.London (20 March), Moyes said the attacking midfielder should have released the ball sooner.

However, he was not overly critical of Benrahma and claimed he has “come back to life a bit” in recent weeks.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Benrahma, Robinson said: “I think there’s still more to come from him.

“David Moyes obviously expects more from him because he has not been a regular feature in the side.

“He was bedded in slowly. We have started to see the best of him this season but it is not on a regular basis. He is too inconsistent. That is why he does not play every week.

“I like him. I think he’s a top player and would show it given a good run of games in the side.

“Defensively, he does not give Moyes enough though. That is why he gets frustrated with him. You cannot doubt his talent but there is question marks over aspects of his game.”

In other news, a pundit has claimed this may be real reason Moyes pointed the finger at West Ham star.
