‘David Moyes nears 1st of 10 Everton signings in 7-figure Adam Aznou update’
David Moyes is closing in on the first of 10 new Everton signings as the Toffees progress on a move to sign Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.
Everton enjoyed a revival under Moyes in the second-half of last season, and they eventually finished 13th in the Premier League as they bid farewell to Goodison Park on a high.
This summer will represent the first transfer window with The Friedkin Group at the helm for Everton, following their December takeover, and former club chief Keith Wyness recently revealed to Football Insider that he believes there will be around 10 new signings made as Moyes looks to overhaul his squad in the coming months.
Everton have already brought playmaker Charly Alcaraz back from Flamengo after the buy option was activated in his loan deal, while Mark Travers has arrived from Bournemouth and Thierno Barry has joined in a big-money move from Villarreal.
Former chief Wyness has told Football Insider that the Toffees could bring in as many as five new players in the coming weeks, and they look to be close to sealing a deal for another new arrival at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton close in on Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich
The Athletic claimed on Tuesday, 22 July, that Everton hold an interest in Bayern’s Aznou as Moyes looks for left-back cover this summer, and they are now moving closer to signing the 19-year-old.
A new report from The Athletic states that the Toffees “have made progress” over a deal for Aznou, with a fee in the region of €9million (£7.87m) being discussed to see him move to Merseyside.
Everton boss Moyes said his side still needed “nine or 10 more” additions this summer at a Men in Blazers event in New York on Friday, 25 July, and it looks as if he is nearing the first of those with the Moroccan international seemingly set to join soon.
Everton need left-back cover after Ashley Young’s exit
Football Insider verdict
Moyes was able to shore up the Toffees’ leaky defence following his re-appointment last season, but he has still moved to make wholesale changes to his backline this summer with the squad in clear need of a refresh.
Veteran left-back Young departed Everton at the end of his contract last month, which leaves Ukraine international Vitalii Mykolenko as the club’s only senior left-back right now.
Mykolenko has impressed at times throughout his Toffees career, but has also struggled on occasion with the physicality of the Premier League, and Moyes will obviously be keen to add competition in that position ahead of the new campaign.

Aznou is a relatively unknown quantity in English football at just 19-years-old, but he has made four senior appearances for Bayern, and has further first-team experience after spending the second half of last season on loan at Real Valladolid.
He is set to be seen as a more attacking option from left-back, according to The Athletic, and Everton supporters will be pleased that the club has addressed a problem area, with plenty more new faces seemingly set to arrive too.
