David Prutton predicts Aston Villa v Blackburn
By Dominic Toner
David Prutton believes that Aston Villa will be a formidable force next season and expects them to beat Blackburn at the weekend.
The Midlands giants travel to Ewood Park on Saturday in the Championship and will hope to finish the final two games strongly.
They are 12th-placed in the league table and have been unable to meet pre-season expectations of competing for promotion.
Steve Bruce’s side go into their next match after a moral lifting win over great rivals Birmingham, when Gabby Agbonlahor scored his first goal in 14 months.
Sky Sports pundit Prutton has tipped Villa to win 2-1 against Blackburn and feels they will be a much greater threat next season.

“Villa are looking towards next season, when they should be a real force to be reckoned with,” Prutton told Sky Sports. “The amount of players they have at their disposal and out on loan is frightening.
“Villa got a good win against Birmingham last weekend and as much as you feel there is a mutual respect between Steve Bruce and Tony Mowbray, there is no doubt Steve will want his players doing their job.”
Villa slumped to relegation from the Premier League last season and have found it difficult during their first experience of the Championship.
They spent big on signings during the transfer windows, but have been unable to get near the promotion picture.
However, they are likely to be one of the favourites next season and Bruce will have a whole summer to shape his squad.
