David Prutton predicts Aston Villa v Leeds
By Matt Farr
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton expects Leeds to edge out Aston Villa when the two sides meet on Thursday.
Both sides are in good form heading into the tie, and have undergone major improvement under their current managers.
Leeds are fifth in the Championship, and Garry Monk’s side have won their last three games on the bounce, while Steve Bruce’s Villa are 10th with one just two defeats in their last 10 league games.
However, Prutton believes Leeds’ current form and confidence will give them the edge at Villa Park. He added that the return of star duo Pablo Hernandez and Chris Wood will be a major boost to the away side.
He told the Sky Sports website: “I thought Leeds would find it tough away at Preston but they turned up there with bells on.

“They have the advantage of having the likes of Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez back.
“But Villa have won five on the bounce at home and Ross McCormack is finally getting back amongst the goals after around three months without scoring which is quite a drought for a player of his calibre.
“I just feel that the way Leeds are playing at this moment in time, I have a good feeling about them going there.”
A win for Leeds could see them rise to third in the league, above promotion rivals Reading and Huddersfield. A win for Aston Villa, meanwhile, could put them above both Barnsley and Fulham into eight, just three points off the play-offs.
Both sides have promotion ambitions for the season, and they have two managers with Premier League experience at the helm.
Leeds have not played in the top-flight since the 2003-04 campaign, when financial troubles saw them drop to the second-tier.
Villa, meanwhile, finished bottom of the Premier League last season, and are targeting an instant return to the division they have called home since its’ inception in 1992-93.
