David Wagner delivers verdict on Leeds ahead of showdown against Huddersfield
By Harvey Byrne
Huddersfield boss David Wagner has shared that he believes Leeds to be a “very good team” before the two sides meet on Sunday.
The Yorkshire giants are currently preparing for a Championship clash which will see them face the Terriers in what is expected to be a closely contested encounter.
Just two points separate the pair in the league with Leeds in fourth and Huddersfield just behind in fifth with a game in hand.
With both teams doing well in the English second tier Wagner told reporters that his side needed to raise their levels once more against an impressive Leeds team for Sunday’s showdown.
“Now Sunday’s game is another highlight. We need to raise our level again to play a very good Leeds team,” said Wagner in his pre-match press conference, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
This will be the second time the two clubs have met each other in the league with the match in September at Elland Road finishing 1-0 to Huddersfield.
Attacker Aaron Mooy’s goal proved decisive five months a go, but Leeds will be eager to see a very different outcome on Sunday with promotion still firmly in their sights.
Garry Monk’s team are looking to bring an end to their 13-year wait for Premier League football and with Brighton losing against Huddersfield on Thursday evening Leeds are just six points off the top.
In other Leeds news, this forward has shared that Leeds have been trying to sign him since the summer.
