Tottenham centre-forward Harry Kane has agreed a new deal at the club, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claims that the England captain has agreed a six-year deal with Spurs, which has seen his current £100,000-a-week deal doubled.
It is understood that with bonuses it could rise to £15million-a-year, meaning the North London club have been willing to throw a huge £90million deal towards their talisman.
The report details he will be on par with the Premier League’s best paid players and Spurs may announce a deal later today (Friday).
Football Insider verdict:
Spurs will be taking a giant stride in the right direction if the latest report on Kane is true and he can go on to become a true Premier League and club legend. The striker is captaining his nation this summer in the World Cup and he deserves the mega deal that has been tabled. He scored 41 goals in 48 appearances for Spurs this season and he is absolutely pivotal in helping them getting over the line for silverware. There aren’t many players that have been more consistent than him in world football during the past couple of years and he is the player that manager Mauricio Pochettino’s builds his team around. Spurs have got themselves into a brilliant position with another top-four finish this year and it’s vital they keep hold of their best players to allow them to grow. Kane will be the poster boy ahead of their switch to a new stadium next season and supporters should be overjoyed if his new deal is confirmed by the club on Friday.
