Deal all but done: Liverpool now set to sign Senegalese defender
Liverpool are now set to sign Mor Ndiaye, with the 18-year-old being viewed as a highly promising talent.
While Liverpool may be in need of a new first-team defenders this month, they have not wasted time in bringing in new, upcoming prospects to Anfield.
The Reds have been well known to produce some excellent talents at Anfield over the years, and now they will be hoping that Ndiaye can lead them to glory in the coming years.
The Senegal defender is set to sign from Amitie FC as Arne Slot looks to get multiple deals done this month.
Liverpool set to sign Mor Ndiaye
The Talent Hunter has reported via Instagram on 9 January that Ndiaye is set to join up with the Liverpool’s Under 21s squad.
The Reds had scouted the defender in the Under 17s World Cup in Qatar in November.
Ndiaye helped Senegal reach the knockout stage before they were knocked out by Uganda in the round of 32.
Now, the youngster is set to be the third young defender to join Anfield over the past few days, with Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Noah Adekoya also making the switch to Liverpool.
What are Liverpool’s January transfer window plans?
With Liverpool all but out of the title race, the Reds will now be focusing on achieving Champions League football.
Liverpool are currently the favourites to win the race to fourth spot. However, this could easily change if performances and results do not improve.
As a result, signings are no doubt needed to achieve this, with the Reds continuing to struggle in the Premier League.
It was reported back in November that Liverpool were set to target a right-back in January.
Now, this could become a priority position, with Conor Bradley picking up an injury against Arsenal. While it is unknown how long the Northern Ireland international will be out for, he was seen leaving the Emirates on crutches.
Therefore, reinforcements at right-back are now more needed than ever, with Bradley potentially out for Liverpool for the forseeable future as they enter a busy period in the 2025-26 campaign.
