Rangers youngster Billy Gilmour is set to sign for Chelsea next week, according to a report.
Rangers website Got the battle fever on claim that the 15-year-old midfielder will complete a move to the Premier League giants next week to kickstart his professional career.
The report details that the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have been chasing the signature of the highly-rated teenager.
However, Gilmour has decided to complete a move to Stamford Bridge and is reportedly set to link up with Chelsea’s Under-18s side.
It is understood that the Gers offered the young talent the opportunity to stay at Ibrox and develop, but he has been too tempted by a move to the English giants.
Gilmour has emerged as an exciting talent at Rangers and has been involved in first team training this season.
However, it looks set like Pedro Caixinha’s side have been unable to convince him to stay and he will try to carve out a career in English football.
Chelsea have become recognised for their promotion of youth, but most have failed to break into the first team.
The Blues have several player out on loan experiencing senior football, but Gilmour will hope to develop through the ranks and follow in the footsteps of academy graduate John Terry.
