The Irish Sun report that Tottenham will pay Belvedere the full compensation fee in one upfront payment after “beating the likes of Chelsea” to the youngster’s signing.
Parrott has cut a swathe through youth team football and has been a prolific scorer for club and country at age-group level.
The teenage forward has just returned from Holland, where he represented Ireland Under-15s.
Football Insider verdict:
Given the antipathy that exists between the Tottenham and Chelsea boardrooms, the signing of a top young striker will be regarded by the White Hart Lane top brass as a considerable coup. Chelsea have been renowned during the Roman Abramovich era for using their financial clout to snap up outstanding emerging talent home and abroad. The signing of the highly rated Parrott shows that Spurs’ highly rated academy has a pulling power of its own. There is a sense that there will be some champagne corks popped at Spurs for pushing through a deal ahead of the west London club.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Daniel Levy has lined up the next Spurs arrival as the deal is all but done.
