Dean Henderson sends two-word message as Crystal Palace make transfer announcement
Crystal Palace have announced the capture of Brennan Johnson from Tottenham.
The winger was Spurs’ top scorer last season as he netted 18 goals in all competitions, including the winner in Tottenham’s Europa League final victory.
However, under Thomas Frank, Johnson has struggled, which resulted in speculation over his long-term future.
Now, despite the outrage surrounding Johnson’s Tottenham departure, Crystal Palace have completed the signing of the Wales international, much to the delight of Dean Henderson.
A moment that will live forever.

Dean Henderson thrilled that Brennan Johnson has joined Crystal Palace
Palace are already enjoying a good season to date.
So far, Oliver Glasner’s side have lifted the Community Shield, reached the next stage of the Europa Conference League and are in the race for Champions League qualification in the Premier League.
Therefore, the Crystal Palace are clearly looking to build on this success with the addition of Johnson.
Palace announced the signing on their Instagram on 2 January, with the attacker now set to be in the squad for their upcoming tie against Newcastle on Sunday.
As a result, Henderson reacted to the news, commenting “Let’s go” with three fire emojis.
What are Johnson’s best qualities?
Based on his stats from last season, according to Fotmob on 2 January, the attacker is exceptional at finding the back of the net, as he averaged 0.45 goals every game.
The Wales international is also rarely dispossessed at just 0.70 times per match.
While he may shoot sparingly, with just 2.23 shots per 90 minutes, his xG last campaign was high at 10.40, where he slightly overperformed.
| Brennan Johnson’s Premier League stats last season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.45 |
| xG | 0.43 |
| Shots | 2.23 |
| Assists | 0.12 |
| Dispossessed | 0.70 |
| Touches in opposition box | 5.58 |
Therefore, Glasner will be hoping he can reignite these qualities over the coming weeks to give Palace the best chance of having another memorable season.
If he can do this, the signing of Johnson could go down as a bargain, despite being the Eagles’ record signing.
Hopefully, Johnson can begin his Palace career on a high with a goal and a victory against Newcastle on the weekend at St James’ Park.
