Dean Henderson: ‘Surprise’ update on sensational Man United return
Man United are unlikely to pursue a move to re-sign Dean Henderson from Crystal Palace this summer, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who spent over a decade at Old Trafford during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that the club will be looking at alternative targets instead.
Henderson, 28, moved from United to Crystal Palace for a fee of £20million last summer and has enjoyed an impressive season in South London so far.
He has kept the third-most clean sheets in the Premier League this season with 10 from 33 appearances so far, and has helped the Eagles reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
Onana, meanwhile, has left many at Old Trafford frustrated with his inconsistent performances amid growing speculation he could be moved on this summer.
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider on 20 April that United could raise £30million from Onana’s sale, having forked out £50million just two years ago.

Man United eye Bart Verbruggen after Dean Henderson latest
Brown told Football Insider on 15 April that Man United want Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as scouts have been watching his performances at the Amex.
Now, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that Henderson is “loving” his time at Palace and is unlikely to leave.
“There’s a lack of goalkeeping talent available,” he told Football Insider.
“But it would surprise me if Dean Henderson was one they made a move for.
“United knew everything about him, and while he was at the club they had concerns that he was a bit unstable, a bit all over the place and too inconsistent.
“His injury history was a huge question-mark too and part of the reason they let him go.
“But he’s gone to Crystal Palace and I’ve got to say he’s done brilliantly since he’s been there.
“He seems to have put a lot of those issues and concerns behind him and has been consistently reliable in what has been an impressive Palace team.
“I think that’s the best place for him, he looks like he’s loving his time there and he clearly gets on well with the manager as well.
“So I would be surprised if he was brought back to United, I think they’ll be looking elsewhere.”

Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaten to quit Old Trafford
On top of the speculation about Onana’s future and potential replacements at Old Trafford, United may be forced to sign a new backup goalkeeper too.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 21 April that Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton will leave United this summer – although they will not let three goalkeepers quit at once.
Bayindir, 27, is ready to quit the club after becoming unhappy with his lack of first-team opportunities under Ruben Amorim despite Onana’s inconsistencies.
Heaton, meanwhile, will be out of contract at the end of the season and there are currently no plans in place to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
