Dean Huijsen and Anthony Elanga respond to Antoine Semenyo amid Bournemouth exit rumours
Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move away from Bournemouth this summer but is first taking some time to enjoy his holiday
After an impressive campaign, the Cherries are set for a difficult transfer window ahead, as they fight to hold onto their best players.
Andoni Iraola’s side were on track for European football back in January, but ended up finishing 9th in the table while accumulating 56 points, their highest ever Premier League total.
Bournemouth have already lost Huijsen to Real Madrid, after Los Blancos triggered the Spaniard’s £50million release clause, and there could be more departures to come.

Semenyo rumours continue
Bournemouth are likely to see a second star defender leave in the coming days, with Milos Kerkez’s move to Liverpool edging ever closer.
The departures may not stop there either, with Semenyo attracting the interest of Manchester United, after a prolific season for the Cherries.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals, as well as picking up five assists, in his 37 appearances for Iraola’s side.
Games | Goals | Assists |
37 | 11 | 5 |
Taking to Instagram, Semenyo shared some photos from the off-season, showing his recent holiday with Marcus Tavernier and Jaidon Anthony, whose transfer to Burnley has been confirmed.
Huijsen commented “big head” on the Ghanaian’s post, while Forest attacker Elanga joked: “No invite, thanks.”
Bournemouth have to recruit well
Football Insider Verdict
Losing Huijsen, Kerkez and Semenyo in one window would be extremely tough to recover from for the Cherries, as the aforementioned three were pivotal to their success last season.
To add insult to injury, it has been revealed that PSG are interested in Illia Zabarnyi (RMC Sport), which would wreak more havoc among the Bournemouth defence.
Huijsen grabbed all the headlines, but Zabarnyi was equally as impressive, if not even better than the Spaniard, and it would be a big blow to lose the 22-year-old.
However, the south coast side have an excellent recruitment model, and despite looking likely to lose the spine of their squad, will have confidence in the players that they bring in.
Bournemouth confirmed the signing of Eli Junior Kroupi back in January, and after spending the remainder of the campaign at Lorient, the youngster is set to join up with the Cherries squad ahead of the coming season.
Kroupi is an exceptional talent, and there is no doubt that more incomings of the same ilk will follow over the summer.
