‘Dean Huijsen wants Liverpool over Arsenal and Chelsea amid Real Madrid update’

Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen has attracted transfer interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

The Spain international only joined the Cherries from Juventus last summer, but is already set to leave the Dorset club this summer.

Andoni Iraola boasts next to no chance of retaining his star defender, courtesy of the £50million release clause inserted in Huijsen’s contract.

The former Juventus man has made 30 Premier League appearances this season, notching three goals and one assist in the process.

Huijsen favours a move to Liverpool over Arsenal or Chelsea

Huijsen recently impressed when he scored the equaliser in Bournemouth’s 2-1 win at Arsenal on 3 May.

According to talkSPORT’s live blog [14 May, 11.31am], Real Madrid are seriously considering paying Bournemouth the defender’s £50m release clause.

The report adds that if the 20-year-old does not join Madrid, his preferred destination is Liverpool, followed by Arsenal.

As per The Standard [14 May], Chelsea had previously been considered the favourites to sign Huijsen this summer.

Liverpool close in on Jeremie Frimpong

Liverpool’s chances of signing Huijsen currently hinge on whether Madrid choose to activate the release clause in the Spain international’s contract.

But Arne Slot’s defence is already set for change this summer, as Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to join Los Blancos on a free transfer.

The Merseyside giants are keen to land a replacement for the 26-year-old and have now verbally agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen’s Frimpong, as exclusively revealed by Football Insider.

Alexander-Arnold will be a tough act to replace, but Frimpong could be the right man for the job after showing his class in the Bundesliga.

When Leverkusen enjoyed an invincible domestic season last term, winning both the Bundesliga and the German Cup, Frimpong notched an impressive return of 14 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.

The Netherlands international scored three goals in the Europa League last season, helping Xabi Alonso’s men reach the final, where they were ultimately beaten by Atalanta.
