Dean Huijsen sends Bournemouth triumph message after another Everton victory

Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen took to social media to send a message to fans following their 2-0 victory over Everton in the FA Cup.

Bournemouth knocked Everton out of the competition on 8 February with goals from Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison.

Everton fans were quick to criticise James Tarkowski, who was at fault for both goals—first conceding the penalty for Semenyo’s opener, then giving the ball away while playing out from the back, leading to Jebbison’s strike.

Huijsen had previously expressed disappointment to Bournemouth fans after the 2-0 loss to Liverpool on 1 February but was in high spirits following their victory over another Merseyside opponent.

Bournemouth can trust Dean Huijsen in defence

Following Bournemouth’s 2-0 victory over Everton, the defender took to Instagram to celebrate the win, captioning his post: “Round of 16, here we come.”

Goalscorer Jebbison simply commented “Wall” after the Spaniard helped secure the clean sheet, while youngster Max Kinsey joined in the celebrations with a heart emoji.

The Cherries’ 11-match unbeaten streak was recently ended by Liverpool, but with five wins in their last seven games across all competitions, they are proving to be serious contenders in the FA Cup.

They have also beaten Everton three times now after knocking David Moyes’ side out of the cup and beating Sean Dyche home and away in the Premier League.

Andoni Iraola needs to keep top players for continued success

Huijsen has been one of the standout performers for Andoni Iraola’s side, who are currently sitting in seventh place, just three points behind a Champions League spot.

His impressive displays have attracted the attention of top clubs, with Chelsea showing interest in Huijsen at Bournemouth. However, the Cherries made it clear they would not entertain offers for their key players during the January transfer window.

Having joined from Juventus for just £12.8 million, the signing is already looking like a smart move for the club.

Iraola’s team have been one of the surprise packages of the season, and if they can maintain their form, they could be in for a European push come the end of the campaign.
