Dean Smith: This is the big advantage Leeds have in clash v Brentford
By Danny Wright
Brentford boss Dean Smith has suggested that Leeds United will have a big advantage in having an extra day rest ahead of the his side’s clash with the Yorkshire club on Saturday evening.
Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds go to Griffin Park in a poor run of form that has seen them lose five of their last six matches in the Championship.
They let slip of an early lead to lose 2-1 to Derby on Tuesday while Brentford have been on a much better run of form that was clear for all to see on Wednesday as they beat Birmingham 2-0 with relative ease.
That 24 hours in extra rest for the Whites is something that Smith has admitted that he is mindful of going into the game.
“Wednesday to Saturday is different and a bit more difficult. The turnaround is very quick and Leeds will have an day extra turnaround,” he said, as quoted by the Bees’ official Twitter account on Friday.

Brentford are in a good spell of form after a poor start to the campaign having avoided defeat in their last eight Championship fixtures to move up to 15th.
Leeds have won just twice in their last eight games and have dropped from top of the table in mid-September down to seventh, just outside the play-offs.
The Whites’ recent results against the Bees don’t paint much of a happy picture either, with the Yorkshire side winning just in their last eight meetings in the Championship and League One.
In other Leeds United news, Gary Neville has explained why the Whites struggled in the transfer market.
