Embarrassing mainstay must be axed: Three things learned from Celtic defeat to Hearts

COMMENT

Celtic’s British record run of domestic games without defeat came crashing to a halt at Tynecastle with Hearts defeating the Scottish Premiership league leaders 4-0.

The Hoops looked out of sorts from the beginning of the game and it was no surprise to see 16-year-old Harry Cochrane give Hearts the lead with a composed finish.

Not long afterwords, former Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty made it 2-0 to the Edinburgh side after poor defending from Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers made changes at half-time, bringing on Stuart Armstrong and Moussa Dembele but they were all for nothing as a Jozo Simunovic blunder let in David Milinkovic who made it 3-0 to Hearts.

There was still time for Hoops goalkeeper Craig Gordon to concede a comedy penalty which Milinkovic converted for his second of the game to finish the scoring at 4-0.

Here Football Insider looks at the three most significant things we learned from an embarrassing afternoon for the Bhoys.
