Defensive masterclass: Three things to expect from Tottenham v Millwall

By Will Butcher

Tottenham are set to face League One outfit Millwall in the FA Cup on Sunday as they look to reach the semi finals of the competition.

The London rivals are set to do battle at White Hart Lane after Millwall have already produced Premier League giant killings against Watford and champions Leicester City.

Spurs will be huge favourites to secure victory against the Lions, but Millwall be in confident mood as they remain unbeaten in 2017.

Football Insider predicts three things that are likely to happen with a place at Wembley at stake.

Millwall will be confident that they can keep out north London giants Spurs, after conceding just two goals since January 7. Keeping 11 clean sheets in their last 13 games, Neil Harris’ side will be looking to frustrate Spurs. In-form defenders Byron Webster, Tony Craig and Shaun Cummings will be looking to combine once again, with Mauricio Pochettino likely to field a strong side in order to assure passage into the last four. Keeping 10 men behind the ball at all times will give Harris’ side the best chance of keeping Spurs out on Sunday.

Steve Morison cameo

The veteran striker scored the Lions winner against Walter Mazzarri’s Watford in the fourth round, and he could be given a chance to test the Spurs defence . The Wales international, who has played for both Leeds and Norwich during his career, has a proven natural instinct in finding the back of the net and that could be on show once again. Likely to start from the bench, the 33-year-old has scored 15 times for the League One outfit and could add to that tally in what has been a surprise-laden FA Cup so far.

Fans’ rivalry

Based in London, with just 10 miles separating The Den and White Hart Lane, fans from both sides are likely to produce a fiery cauldron ahead of the clash. Clubs in England’s capital are known for their feisty fan bases and Sunday’s opponents are no different. Fans will be looking to give their all to boost their sides on the pitch, with a place at Wembley the prize.
